ROAD MAP TO THE GARNET WAY

Think Garnet.

We know our goal is attainable, but we also realize that generating the revenue may seem like a great challenge. So, we had many things to consider before beginning The Garnet Way:
  • We had to make sure our goal was attainable.
  • Our reason for raising funds was fair.
  • We had to make sure that every Gamecock could participate.
  • We had to make sure the best interest of each and every individual fan was always represented.
With the help of Tommy Suggs, our major gifts chairman, and his steering committee and cabinet, we believe we have instituted the right principles and the right people to make sure we uphold these considerations.

The following chart is a rough breakdown of how The Garnet Way will generate the needed funds over the next five years to reach our championship vision.  Obviously, the costs of construction and our ability to raise funds will affect our projections, but we believe this chart serves is a useful guide.

Gamecock Club:

We have already announced the planned incremental increases of Gamecock Club member dues.

Premium Seating (Club Seating and Suites):

We have already met this year’s goal for premium seating options for club seating and suites. In fact, we have completely sold out sections 208 and 209 of Williams-Brice Stadium and currently have a waiting list for the next phase of renovations.

Major Gifts:

Major gifts have already played a major role in The Garnet Way.  People like Dolores F. “Dodie” Anderson, who gave a large gift to help fund the Dodie Academic Enrichment Center, have contributed to jump start many building projects underway.

YES:

Seat donations are another portion of the new revenue. In developing the YES program for football and baseball seating, we also created and enacted a list of very important principles called the Fair Implementation Policy, which allows all fans to participate in the campaign and guarantees that all fans are treated fairly.

Why are we announcing The Garnet Way

We have started this mission with the goal of the fans in mind. The goal of The Garnet Way is about fulfilling the wishes of the fans. We all want to win. We all know the SEC is the most competitive division in NCAA Athletics. We know that to achieve our goal of winning consistently, we must acknowledge and embrace the direct correlation between winning championships and athletics budgets of our SEC rivals.   The chart below demonstrates the relationship between athletics fundraising and success on the field.

This is a Great time to be a Gamecock!

We need our Gamecock Nation united in the Garnet Way campaign just as much as we are united at every game. It’s time to live Garnet just as much as we bleed Garnet.  Our unbridled passion, hopes and dreams are becoming realized each day. We can already look around and see new energy, new buildings being erected and new ground being broken.

That is The Garnet Way.

That is how we will battle for championships.

Gamecock Nation thanks you for your continued support.

We know we are asking more of ourselves, our coaches and you, but if we truly want to consistently compete for championships, we can do no less. The only way we can achieve our goal is together
